Each time a trader submits a trade it's displayed on this page in real-time or on a 15 minute delay for free users. Any time a trade is opened, averaged. trimmed/partially closed, or exited, the trade is refreshed to the top of this list.\ \ Each row shows the trader who made the trade and important information for that trade. It shows the ticker being traded with the direction (long/short) along with the options data (if any), the current status, and the price it was opened at and a profit/loss stat.

The row can be expanded which displays any notes about the trade the trader has provided.\ \ Users can give +Rep or drop comments directly from these trade rows. ## New Trade This interface is used to submit trades and modify existing positions. It is used to open trades and the Active Positions tab is used to average, trim/partial close, or exit your open positions. ## Trade Insight Trades have their own individual interfaces where additional data for that trade is displayed. Everything pertaining to a submitted trade will be shown on this UI such as every position update, TP/SL change, and notes or media uploads, including additional elements such as ticker data and our unique POV Charts that gives viewers a traders perspective of a chart when they were taking and updating positions. To access these interface displays, click the trade info from trade rows that are listed on the [Trades](#trades-feed) feed, trader [Dashboards](#dashboard), or [Ticker Info](#ticker-info) displays.

{% hint style="info" %} You can update positions and add or modify your TP/SL directly from this interface. {% endhint %} ### POV Charts A unique feature, the POV Charts, offers a unique perspective of each trade event by precisely marking the respective candlesticks on the chart, granting viewers valuable insights into the trader's observations of trends and patterns at the time of each action. **Chart Timeframes depend on d**uration of trade:\ Less than 1 day = 1min timeframe\ 1-7 days = 15min\ 7-14 days = 1hr\ More than 14 days = 1day

POV Charts show the candles when a trader has entered, averaged, trimmed, or closed.

## Leaderboards The [rankings](https://nvstly.com/ranks) interface are side by side leaderboards that lists the ranks of the top traders for any and all markets. We've formulated a scoring system that ranks traders based on their total number of closed trades, win rate, & average return. Traders need a minimum of seven (7) trades for ranking eligibility.\ \&#xNAN;*Winning stock trades will have a multiplier soon as bigger gains are harder than options. This should help level the leaderboard for stocks vs options traders.* Win Rate values may differ from those on trader dashboards because, for rankings, we include open trades in the calculation. This ensures fairness by accounting for traders who leave losing trades open to avoid impacting their performance stats.

{% hint style="warning" %} The ranking formula is subject to change as we stride to keep rankings fair for each type of trader and calculate scores that don't favor heavily of one stat over another. {% endhint %} #### Server-Only Leaderboards Servers can access their own leaderboards which rank only traders within their community. These leaderboards display the ranks of every trader who is a signed up user on our platform and also meets the the seven (7) trade minimum quantity for eligibility, for timeframes above *Past Day*. Unlike the global leaderboard, all traders will be ranked & displayed regardless of win rate. {% hint style="info" %} **How to see server-only leaderboards?**\ `https://trd.ng/ranks?guild=server-id-here`\ or\ `https://nvstly.com/ranks?guild=server-id-here` {% endhint %} ## Dashboard A trader's Dashboard is like a mix between their social profile and portfolio, displaying their latest trades, trading performance stats, and some general info about the trader such as their join date, badges earned, reputation count, and their bio. #### Stats Stats are primarily based on all your closed trades, with the exception of a few. By default dashboards are a reflection of a traders activity and performance for the past 30 days, but time ranges can be filtered using the dropdown above the stats component.

We plan to add a feature that will allow traders to reset their stats 1-2 times a year, but even then there will be a historical archive publicly available of stats prior to a reset. {% endhint %} #### Reputation :rep~1: +Rep is our community karma system and is short for Reputation. It's similar to giving likes or upvoting, and is a helpful stat to distinguish top traders, active users, and helpful community members- which is why it's displayed on all trader's dashboards. +Rep can be given for top trades, and soon for content posted or shared. {% hint style="info" %} You can only +Rep another trader once per day to prevent trading rep and abuse. {% endhint %} #### Badges PRO/PRO+ icons on dashboards and avatars distinguish subscribed members, you can acquire these by [upgrading your membership](https://nvstly.com/settings/membership).\ \ Badges help traders distinguish themselves from the pack, representing top traders or those with a high win rate. Badges also represent which traders are official analysts or NVSTly staff.

You will find it's chart, statistical data, analytic graphs, news, latest trades, & more. Here you can stay up to date with the latest app updates or learn what we're working on next. {% endhint %} # Download Your Data Download all your trade data & performance stats in a spreadsheet. You can download all trades & performance stats into a .csv (spreadsheet) at any time. Go to Account Settings > [Login & Security](https://nvst.ly/settings/security) > and hit the Download Trades button under My Data. # Referral System & Payouts Earn cash rewards any time one of your invitees subscribes to PRO and for each of their billing periods the duration of their membership. Please read the [terms of service](https://nvstly.com/terms#section-7) relating to referrals and payouts. ## Referrals Any time a user signs up using your referral link, and at any time subscribes to PRO/PRO+ the referring user will earn a percentage of the invitees membership payment, and not just once but for every billing period. Even if a referred user already has an account, they can input a referral code through their [Membership Settings](https://nvstly.com/settings/membership), *so long they are not already a subscribed PRO Member.*\ \ Even when a user uses a referral link but doesn't signup immediately or does so at a later date, the referral code will be cached in their browser so that the referral will still be credited.\ \ Referral rewards:\ \- 10% earned for free users\ \- 15% earned for PRO members\ \- 20% earned for PRO+ members\ \ After an invitee subscribes to PRO or pays any future billing period, the reward percentage will be credited instantly to the referrers account and will be pending for 60 days. After the pending period this amount will be marked in the available balance and is eligible towards payouts. {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Even if you referred a user who is already signed up, they can input your referral code in their [Membership Settings](https://nvstly.com/settings/membership). {% endhint %} ## Payouts A minimum available reward balance of $5 is required to request a payout, that is not in a pending period. Payment methods include [CashApp](https://cash.app/app/T4SRMMV), PayPal, or any cryptocurrency listed on the [Coinbase](https://trd.ng/ref/coinbase) exchange. All payouts are in USD currency, PayPal may convert USD to your native currency. Cryptocurrency will use the current market value at the time of fulfilling payout.\ \ To request a payout, hit the `Request Payout` button and follow the prompted directions. Currently, it will initiate an email draft with prefilled data and a section for you to provide the payment method info. Payouts may take up to 30 days to be fulfilled as we handle all payouts the first week of each month. #### Fees Any and all payment fees will be deducted from the payout amount. There are zero fees when payouts are fulfilled via [CashApp](https://cash.app/app/T4SRMMV).\ \ Because we use [Coinbase](https://trd.ng/ref/coinbase) as our main exchange to handle crypto, and the limited network options offered, we strongly suggest requesting payouts using tokens with a low gas fee. They support multiple networks for USDC, and XRP uses the native network which has significantly low gas fees typically below $0.01. ## Get Started Getting started is easy. Simply hit the `Create Referral Code` button found in [Account Settings](https://nvstly.com/settings/profile) to generate a code, link, and QR image. This link can be shared anywhere.\ \ To be credited for a user you invited to the platform that already has an account, they can input your referral code in their [Membership Settings](https://nvstly.com/settings/membership). They must not already be a PRO member, but if they do become a PRO member after inputting referral code, you will earn from their billings. #### Tracking Referrals, Subscribers, & Reward Balance or History Account settings will display an invite tracker, subscription tracker, pending balance, and available balance. For every user signing up using your referral link they will be counted as 1 signup. For every invite that has subscribed to PRO will be counted as 1 subscriber. To view a history of incoming rewards, hit the `See more` link below the counters. This will show all credited rewards with the date of issue, value, and days left in the pending period. #### Terms For a complete and detailed description of terms relating to referrals and payouts, please refer to [section 7](https://nvstly.com/terms#section-7) in our terms of service.\ \ Existing PRO Members who haven't linked a referral code to their accounts cannot input a referral code in their Membership Settings. To credit rewards to a referrer, an invitee must sign up using a referral link or enter a referral code in their Membership Settings before becoming a PRO Member.\ \ If at any time during the 60 day pending phase an invitee disputes a charge related to their billing period, the reward amount will be removed from the balance permanently and won't be credited back even if the dispute results in our favor. *This 60 day pending/holding period is to prevent paying out rewards in the case that a user disputes the membership fee charge. Reward credits relating to a dispute are removed due to our payment processor (Stripe) charging a fee regardless the resolution results.*\ \ Anyone abusing, manipulating, or "gaming" the referral system will have their rewards removed and may be banned from the platform. If a user who never invited you offers you something or requests you to input their referral code, we consider them acting in bad faith and would appreciate you reporting them. # Broker Integration Connect or link a brokerage account to automate the submitting of trades to track & share positions instantaneously as they are executed within the broker. Brokerage integration provides faster trade submissions through automation. Instruction steps will also be added on this page, including a how-to video. ## Auto Login & Startup on Boot For a completely hands-free convienent experience, follow the steps below for [Windows](#windows) or [macOS](#macos) to have the OpenD client launch & automatically login when your PC starts up. ### Windows 1. First, on the OpenD login screen, make sure to check "Remember Me" and "Auto Login" boxes. 2. In the *Start Menu* or *Search* field on the bottom taskbar, type in "OpenD" to find Moomoo OpenD. Right click on it and click *Open File Location*. This should take you to `C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs`, copy the Moomoo OpenD shortcut that it brought you to.

3. **Press** `Win + R` and type `shell:startup`, then press **Enter**. * This opens the **Startup** folder where programs automatically launch when your PC starts & you login. (I.e. `C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup`)

Go to **Account Settings >** [**Membership**](https://nvstly.com/settings/membership). 2. On the bottom left, below the membership plans, click the **Manage Membership** button. 3. You will be redirected to **Stripe's Dashboard** (our payment processor), where you can cancel your subscription. *(Or update billing methods)* Once cancelled, your membership will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. You will not be charged for the following cycle, and your subscription will terminate automatically at that time. ### **No-Refund Policy** NVSTly has a **strict no-refund policy**. You are responsible for managing your subscription and cancelling before the next billing cycle to avoid unwanted charges. **Exceptions:** If you accidentally renew your subscription and contact us within **48–72 hours** of your latest billing, we may issue a full refund upon cancellation of the subscription. ## New Trade **Market**\ \- Toggle between stocks, options, or crypto markets.\ \ **Position**\ \- Toggle for submitting a long or short trade.\ \ **Symbol**\ \- The ticker symbol of asset being submitted.\ \- When entering a ticker that our platform doesn't recognize, you will be prompted with an error and the option to report the missing ticker if you believe it is valid.\ \ **Pair** (crypto)\ \- The trading pair being used for trade, the 2nd ticker symbol. (I.e. BTC/USDT where USDT is the pair.)\ \ **Price**\ \- The price of your trade.\ \- A real-time price is auto-filled when a ticker symbol has been entered, which can be used to submit rather than inputting a price. {% hint style="warning" %} We check real-time prices when a trade is submitted, and allow a small threshold of how far you can be off the current market price to allow for volatility and time it takes when submitting a trade. {% endhint %} **Style Dropdown Menu**\ \- To mark your trade as daytrade, scalp, swing, or long term. #### When options is toggled **State**\ \- To select whether the trade is a call or put.\ \ **Exp. [^2]: Trades will close automatically when the current market prices reaches these values. [^3]: A small tolerance is allowed between the submitted price and the current price to account for volatility and the time required to process the trade. # Add, Change, Remove TP/SL Setting, updating, or removing TP/SL values When [submitting a trade](/submit-trades-from-web/submit-trades), after inputting the direction, ticker, and price, there is a 2nd *(optional)* prompt to add notes or set values for TP and SL. The only other method of adding, updating, or removing these values is on the [Trade Insight](/info/readme/user-interfaces-overview#trade-insight) interface. On the top section there are edit icons under TP and SL. Clicking these edit icons will prompt you to enter their values. You can edit these values as at any time while the position is open. To remove these values click the edit icon, don't enter any value, and hit submit- your previous value will be removed.

# Update Notes & Media Add standalone trade notes or upload media There are several methods to adding notes to trades as well including media. Media uploads are limited to PRO members only. ### Add notes from Active Positions interface Using the Active Positions interface, trader's can add standalone notes that are displayed in the section showing the trader's trade events (open, average, trim, close, and notes). Media can be also be included with notes and are limited to [PRO members](https://nvstly.com/settings/membershipl) only.

### Add notes from Trade Insight The author of a trade can use the [Trade Insight](/info/readme/user-interfaces-overview#trade-insight) interface to add standalone notes that are displayed in the section showing the trader's trade events (open, average, trim, close, and notes). # Advanced Input A quick & efficient way of submitting trades. ## Advanced Input The advanced input feature allows for a quicker and more efficient method of submitting trades. When using general elements on the New Trade interface, you can see what the advanced format version of your trade would be. The advanced method uses abbreviations and keywords that describe your trade data.\ It starts with a trigger that specifies if the submissions is opening or closing a trade, and the direction of it. A ticker symbol if always followed after the trigger, and if options then the expiration date, strike price, and call/put. For crypto trades the pair is included with with the ticker while using a `/` as the separator. It the ends with `@ ` where \ is replaced with your submitted price. See below for more info and examples. {% hint style="info" %} If you're experienced or familiar with using the NVST.ly Discord bot, the advanced input method is exactly the same as submitting trades via text commands. {% endhint %} [**Triggers:**](/submit-stocks-options-trades-on-discord/triggers)\ **BTO** - Buy to Open *(open long)*\ **STC** - Sell to Close *(close long)*\ **STO** - Sell to Open *(open short)*\ **BTC** - Buy to Close *(close short)*\ \ **Partial/Trim Keywords:**\ `part` `partial` `trim` `trimming` `scal` `scale` `scaling`\ These keywords can be used anywhere within the notes.\ \ **Notes:**\ Notes are used after the price. They can be used to set the S[tyle](/submit-stocks-options-trades-on-discord/trade-styles-risk-flags-and-trade-notes#trade-styles) of a trade, set [Take Profit and/or Stop Loss](/submit-stocks-options-trades-on-discord/setting-tp-sl), [Partial/Trim](/submit-stocks-options-trades-on-discord/trim-partial-close) a position, mark a trade with R[isk Factor Flags](/submit-stocks-options-trades-on-discord/trade-styles-risk-flags-and-trade-notes#risk-flags), or specify a crypto exchange, ### **Examples:** **Stocks:**\ `BTO AAPL @ 123.33` - Buying AAPL for $123.33 to open a long position (STO would be used if the position is short)\ `STC AAPL @ 130.45` - Selling AAPL for $130.45 to close the long position (BTC would be used if closing the short position)\ \ **Options:**\ `BTO SPY 1/23 400p @ 1.23` - Buying SPY contracts with a January 23rd expiration date, $400 strike price, and strategy is put. \ Same trade, using alternative formats: `BTO SPY 400p 1/23 @ 1.23` - `BTO SPY 1/23 400 put @ 1.23` - `BTO SPY 400put 1/23 @ 1.23` `STC SPY 1/23 400p @ 2.34` - Selling the open SPY contracts, you can use the same alternative formats above. \ `STO` & `BTC` would be used if this SPY contact was a short-selling positions. **Crypto:**\ Pairs need to be attached to the tickers but always separated by the `/` symbol. # Trade Sharing Overview Send your trades to Discord or Twitter instantaneously after submitting them. The ability to share your trades and flex your stats is one of the more popular appealing features. We've aimed to deliver this functionality to fit the needs of various traders seeking this capability. Whether you're a guru spreading your wisdom and signals on social media or Discord, or looking for that credibility on the banger you mentioned last month, or just to share with your followers what you're buying and selling. You can share your trades to Discord via webhooks automatically with the option to customize the message or embed content. Currently, trades can be tweeted upon submitting them, and will have automatic tweets for sharing trades in the near future. By default, we have pre-set message content for sharing to Discord and Twitter, but you can change 100% of their appearance and deck them out however you'd like! ## How It Works Sharing to Discord instantly occurs via your webhooks after submitting a trade. The message or embed that is sent to the webhook(s) can be fully customized with many features and market data to help.\ \ With Twitter, as soon as you submit a trade a new browser window will open up with a pre-filled out tweet for you to send. This default tweet content can also be fully customized. We plan to work with Twitter's API to provide automatic tweets for trade sharing in the near future. {% hint style="info" %} Check out how to get started sharing your trades to Discord through this page [Discord](/trade-sharing/discord)\ \ There is no setup required for Twitter, but you can still customize how your preset tweets will look by building your own, see [Customize Messages or embeds](/trade-sharing/customize-messages-or-embeds) {% endhint %} # Discord Auto trade sharing to Discord via webhooks. ### Webhooks Webhooks are required for sharing your trades to Discord. To do this go to [Accounts & Sharing](https://nvst.ly/settings/sharing) within your account settings. Under the webhooks section click Add Webhook > Discord to be prompted with the New Webhook interface. \ \ Select a name for the webhook that will act as a username in Discord, an image that will be used for the avatar, and the webhook URL. An optional note can be added to help keep track of webhooks.\ \ You can limit which markets and style of trades you want sent to webhooks by selecting them under Markets and Trade Styles. You need to select at least 1 market, and if no Trade Styles are selected it will send all trades regardless of style. #### Role Pings & @mentions If you intend on @mentioning or sending a ping with your shared trade, they should be set with each individual webhook rather than in the custom message/embed builder- *as those mentions/pings would be used across all webhooks.*

#### Creating Webhooks on Discord To create webhooks on Discord, right click on the desired channel you want trades to be shared in and click `Edit Channel.` In the settings click on `Integrations` then `Webhooks` and click `New Webhook`. You can set the webhook name and avatar here, but the webhook name and avatar set in the web app will over-ride these settings. ## Enable/Disable Sharing Trades to Webhooks To share your trades to Discord via webhooks, you can either enable it in the [Accounts & Sharing](https://nvst.ly/settings/sharing) section of account settings, or just check the *Share to Discord* box when submitting a trade through the New Trade interface. You will need to link Discord to your account to access this feature.

The trade properties are all the data sets that can be used that will be replaced with the actual data each one represents. This short video will guide you through the currently available settings commands, what they do, and how to use them. {% embed url="" %} v1 video on setup, but the same for v2 {% endembed %} # Add the Bot How to add the Discord bot. ## Inviting the bot To add the bot to your server you will need to invite it using the [invite link](https://nvstly.com/addbot) then select the server you want to add it to.\ Bot Invite Link: ![](/files/pPb4Ot3wwj2jvTbe4jg4) ## Permissions The bot's permissions are required for it to function, this is to ensure a high quality user experience as it was intended. The `Manage Roles` permission will allow the bot to create roles that are linked to badges on the website such as ***Top Trader*** and ***High Win Rate*** which are rewarded to traders who earned them from holding a top ranked position on the leaderboard, or having a 70% win rate or higher. ### Greeting Message When the bot joins the server it scans for channels with the keywords "general", "hangout", & "chat" to send it's greeting message. If it does not detect a channel containing a key word it sends the message into the first channel it has the `Send Messages` permission. \ \ This greeting message will inform you that a setup is not required but will prompt you with the available commands for settings.\ \ # Server Settings There is no setup required for the bot to function but there are optional settings to help fit the structure of a server. {% hint style="warning" %} All text based commands can also be used via /slash commands. {% endhint %} **The bot can be added with the required permissions and used in any channel immediately without any setup needed.** For a list of all available settings, use the `/setup` or `$setup` command.

## Prefix {% hint style="info" %} **$prefix \**\ I.e `$prefix !` {% endhint %} The bot's prefix can be changed to any character, the prefix is used to trigger bot commands- everything except submitting trades. # Admin Roles Set admin roles that allow access to all setup commands. The bot's setup commands will only work for users with server *Administrator* or roles that have been added to the bot using the `$adminroles` command. These roles will be allowed access to all available setup commands without being a server admin such as for management or staff. ### Add Admin Role {% hint style="info" %} **`$adminroles add @role`** {% endhint %} To add a role that gives access to the bot's setup commands use the command `$adminroles add <@role>` and mention the role you would like to add. Setting a whitelist of channels is recommended as it will not allow users to submit trades in channels not designated for submitting them, but all other commands will still function in non-whitelisted channels.\ \ If a whitelist has not been set, when the bot is used in a channel that it doesn't have the required permissions in, it will reply or send a DM to that user with a permissions checklist noting which perms are missing. ### Add Channels To Whitelist {% hint style="info" %} **`$whitelist add #channel`** {% endhint %} To add a channel to the whitelist use the command `$whitelist add` and specify the channel to add. {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Quickly closing trades can be done by using the `$list` or `/list` command to show all open trades, where each one has a button to immediately close it at the current market price. Check out [Commands](/commands/list) for a list of all commands and how to use them. {% endhint %} # Average Up/Down Positions Positions can be averaged up or down, but cannot be 100% accurate as position sizes are not a factor. Position averaging is calculate based on a single share or contract There is no extra trigger or syntax to average positions. Using the same opening submission for an existing trade that is still open will average the position.\ \ For example, if you submit `BTO AAPL @ 180` and do not close it, when you submit another opening position the same as an existing one, such as `BTO AAPL @ 170,` it will already know you have an existing open trade for this ticker and will auto calculate the new average for this trade to 175- the average of 180 & 170.\ \ Averaging is the same with options, as long as the ticker, expiration date, call/put, & strike price are the same.

## Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. Submitting an open position for the same existing open position will average it.

{% hint style="danger" %} Averages can't be 100% accurate due to the app not tracking position sizes. If only 1 share/contract is being traded, it will be 100%. The app only recognizes that order quantity is always 1, and it can't be specified otherwise. \ \ *An example of inaccuracy; trade opened with 5 shares for $10.00, then averaged with 2 shares for $9.00 which creates a new average price of \~$9.71. The app only recognizes that 1 share has been opened for $10.00, and 1 additional share for $9.00- therefore calculating the average to $9.50.* {% endhint %} # Trim/Partial Close Partially closing or trimming positions allows for locking in gains for stats while still keeping the position open for potentially more future gains {% hint style="success" %} Trim/Partial Keywords\ `TRIM` - `SCAL` - `PART` - `Leaving Some` are all keywords to trigger a trim/partial close & can be used anywhere within the notes.\ *(trimming, scale, scaling, partial, partially)* {% endhint %} > I.e. *`STC AAPL @ 150`` `**`partial`***\ > *`BTC SPY 4/01 460p @ 2.40`` `**`trim`*** To trim or partially close trades and keep them open, use the trim/partial keywords at the end of the trade or anywhere within the notes, such as `trim` `trimming` `scale` `scaling` `partial` `partially`. {% hint style="info" %} When options trades expire that have been trimmed or partially closed, the position will be closed at the last trimmed/partial price. {% endhint %} {% tabs %} {% tab title="Example #1" %} ![](/files/Ru18nG4Aw4dO13IzLJh6)Example of partially closing $TSLA short position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #2" %} ![](/files/fJbaYwilpUi2NOqWiV52)Example of partially closing $MSFT long position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #3" %} ![](/files/3oQzjZqf4JcZh1SYMUw1)Example of partially closing $AAPL long position {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} When closing trades with trim/partial exit, the final gain percentage is generated by calculating the average of trim(s) and exit returns which is used for final gain/loss that is factored into stats. ### Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. When using the `/close` command, use any of the trim/partial keywords (trim, trimming, partial, etc.) anywhere in the notes field to trim/partially close a position. {% hint style="warning" %} Trades that have been trimmed/partially closed will calculate the final gain percentage differently. The returns of each trim/partial and the closing return will be calculated into an average gain/return which is used toward stats. However, the bot will reply with an Entry to Exit gain/loss percentage for trades that have been trimmed/partially closed, but this value does not factor into stats and is only for cosmetic purposes. {% endhint %} # Setting TP/SL How to set and change a Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Trades are automatically closed when the asset prices reaches these specified values There are various methods in setting and changing Take Profits and Stop Losses. ## Using the "Add TP/SL" button When the bot replies to an open trade submission, a blue button titled `Add TP/SL` is attached with it's response. Clicking this will prompt a user friendly popup where values can be specified for Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Set the value for one or both.

The bot will not allow a value below the current market price to be set for a Take Profit, and a value above the current market price to be set for a Stop Loss- and vice versa for short positions. #### Changing or removing TP/SL using "Add TP/SL" button This button can also be used to change or remove existing TPs and SLs. To change, simply specify a new value. To remove one or both, set the value to 0 (zero) or leave the fields blank. {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Using the `$list` or `/list` command will display all open trades where each one has a button to add or change TP/SL. {% endhint %} After successfully setting or changing a TP/SL, the bot sends a ephemeral message to confirm the values specified. The bot will also edit it's response embed to the submitted trade to display the TP/SL values.

## Setting TP/SL with trade submission Take Profit and/or Stop Loss values can be specified anywhere within the trade notes when submitting a trade. When using the keyword letters `TP` and/or `SL`, any numbers following after them will be the values used. It's sophisticated in a way where symbols or words can be used between `TP`/`SL` and the number values. > Specify the price after the keyword letters **`TP`** & **`SL`** | To cancel or remove a TP/SL, set it to **0** (zero).\ > Examples;\ > `TP 2.34 SL 1.23`\ > `TP @ 2.34 and SL @ 1.23`\ > `TP is 2.34 & SL is 1.23`\ > \&#xNAN;*(Any symbol or word can be used where `@` and `is` are.)*

### Changing TP/SL using List command {% hint style="info" %} The `$list` or `/list` command displays all open trades ordered by most recent. Specifying a ticker with the command will show only open trades for that ticker symbol. {% endhint %} A TP/SL can be added, changed, or removed at any time by using the `$list` or `/list` command. It displays all your open trades 4 at a time. Each trade has a TP/SL button that can be used to specify new or remove values.

### When TP/SL is Hit Trades are intended to auto close when the asset's price reaches or exceeds the specified TP/SL values. When this occurs, the bot will send a message notification in the originating server channel the trade was opened in, as well send a DM notification (if enabled) to the trader or user.

It can help viewers whether the trade is short or long term. More than one trade flag can be applied.\ \ Trades flagged with a risk factor are displayed as such on the [Trades Feed](https://nvstly.com/trades) and Trade Insight interfaces.

There are two methods of adding standalone notes through Discord, there are additional methods when using the web or mobile apps, see [Update Notes & Media](/submit-trades-from-web/submit-trades/update-notes-and-media) To add a standalone note, just reply to the bot's confirmation response for any of your trade submissions. These notes will be displayed individually on the Trade Insight interface. Up to 3 images can be attached with the message and will be displayed on the Trade Insight interface- a feature for PRO members.

Another method for adding standalone notes is through the use of the /list or $list command. Each trade displayed in the response of the command will have an "Update" button which will prompt a popup of a text box to enter in notes. *Images can't be added using this method.*

No media is allowed for free users. {% endhint %} # Error/Invalid Replies Explanation of error or invalid message replies you might run into ### **Invalid:** Your input format is invalid, please recheck the format of your message. The format of your message is wrong. Common cases include mistyping triggers or `cmp`, misplacing or excluding ticker, expiration date, strike price, missing `call`/`put`, or not including the `@` before price. ### That ticker symbol is invalid! The specified ticker does not exist, was spelled wrong, or is not yet in our system. Typically, IPOs take 48-72 hours to be added. Please only click the Report button if it's an actual ticker, not a typo. ### Your price is too far off the current market price of... This occurs when the specified price of the trade is outside the tolerated range of the current price at the time of submission. ### Your premium price is too far off the current price of... This occurs when the specified premium price for an options trade submission is outside the tolerated range of the current price at the time of submission. {% hint style="info" %} **Did you know?**\ *Y*ou may use the `/fixtrade` or `$fixtrade` command to request a trade to be forced in on your behalf if you run into an error or issue preventing a legitimate trade from being submitted. {% endhint %} ### You do not have a position in... This occurs when you attempt to submit a closing trade for a position that is not currently opened. *Double check that the open position is long or short, and that the proper trigger is being used when closing.* ### I don't recognize that expiration date! Use mm/dd format or recheck. This occurs if the specified expiration date is incorrect or non-existent. *This typically happens when a date is mistyped, or sometimes requires the mm/dd/yy format if next years date.* ### I don't recognize that strike price. This occurs if the specified strike price is not a real strike for that options contract. ### You already have an open position in *`TICKER`* There cannot be two opposite direction open positions (long & short) for the same stock or options contract. If a long position has been submitted and a short sell position with the same ticker or options contract is attempted to be submitted, this error will occur. ### You cannot set your `TP`/`SL` `above`/`below` the current market price. This occurs when you attempt to set a TP below the current market price, or a SL above the current market price. # Fix/Edit Trades Under Development Version 1's fixtrade process was lengthy and ineffeicent. While we continue to develop and improve this feature on 2.0, please use our Discord support server or send an email to request a trade to be fixed, added, or removed.\ Discord: \ Email: # Tickers With Special Characters Ticker symbols containing dots cannot be submitted with the dot. Removing the dot is required. Index tickers may contain an up arrow, or are known other than their actual symbol. ## Stock Ticker Symbols Stocks with more than one class of shares that contain a dot in their ticker symbol need to be submitted without the dot. Below is a list of stock ticker symbols, if you see any are missing please report them to us at

When submitting a trade containing any of these symbols, simply just remove the dot or dash and the bot will recognize it. ## Index Ticker Symbols Some indices have options that can be traded, and typically use an up arrow in their ticker symbol- or sometimes are known as completely different than their actual ticker. For example, the S\&P 500 is commonly referred to as SPX, but the actual ticker is ^GSPC. Below is a list of all index tickers, if you see any are missing please report them to

When submitting an options trade containing any of these symbols, be sure to use the alias ticker in the left column. # Overview How to submit crypto trades via the Discord bot. {% hint style="danger" %} When submitting a crypto trade, you need to use a separator between the coin and the trading pair. Available separators are: `/` `-` `_` `&` or `.` {% endhint %} ### Important Crypto trade tracking is generally the same as stocks/options, but has more sophisticated additional features to provide better timely trade submissions. Be sure to check out the [Defaults](/submit-crypto-trades-on-discord/defaults)section to learn all about these features and how to submit crypto trades most efficiently. {% hint style="info" %} When your Default Market is set to `crypto`, you will need to use `-S` or `-F` syntaxes attached to the tickers when submitting stocks or forex trades.\ I.e. `BTO AAPL-S @ cmp` or `BTO USDCAD-F @ cmp`\ \ When submitting options trades, the `-S` syntax is **not** required. {% endhint %} ### Prices The bot checks against real-time market prices when trades are submitted. To allow for volatility and time it takes to submit, the submitted price can be off by a small threshold based on our price tolerance system. This is to prevent traders manipulating stats and cheating ranks. This video will guide you through on how to properly use the Discord bot for submitting (stock only) trades. This is an old version 1 video, and a lot has been added & changed since then but is still helpful for covering the basics and seeing it in action. When the default market is stocks, submitting crypto trades requires a complete format (I.e. BTO BTC/USDT @ CMP) where a `/` separator and the trading pair ticker need to be specified- or if using a [#default-trading-pair](#default-trading-pair "mention") when submitting then the `.X` syntax can be used in replace of the `/` separator and pair ticker. (I.e. BTO BTC.X @ CMP) {% hint style="warning" %} When attempting to trade stocks while the default market is set to `crypto`, a `-S` syntax attached to the ticker is required.\ I.e. `BTO AAPL-S @ cmp`\ \ Syntaxes are not case sensitive, and can be used with any special character `-` `.` `_` and others. (I.e. `BTO ABC.S @ cmp`)\ When submitting options trades, the `-S` syntax is **not** required. No syntax is needed when submitting forex trades while default market is `crypto`. {% endhint %} Submitting crypto trades can still be allowed when the default market is set to `stocks`. But the trading pair ticker or `.X` syntax for the default pair will be required. > `BTO BTC/USDT @ CMP [exchange]`\ > or\ > `BTO BTC.X @ CMP` When default market is set to `crypto` and when submitting a crypto trade, the trading pair isn't required, and when one isn't specified it will use the default pair. See [#default-trading-pair](#default-trading-pair "mention") > `BTO BTC @ CMP`\ > Will be submitting the cryptocurrency BTC using the default pair or USDT if default pair hasn't been changed, and using the default exchange or Binance if default exchange hasn't been changed. ### How to set or change the Default Trading Market Use the `/defaults` or `$defaults` command to bring up the defaults settings interface. If it responds with "That is not a supported market!" try again and double check the spelling of `stocks` or `crypto`. ## Default Crypto Exchange The default crypto exchange setting is what allows trades to be submitted without needing to specify the exchange name within the trade notes. When submitting a trade on a different exchange than what the default exchange is set to, the exchange name needs to be included in the trade notes. We currently support \~25 crypto exchanges used to check real-time crypto prices. Specifying an exchange name in the trade notes can be used to submit a trade on an exchange that is not the default exchange. ### How to set or change the Default Exchange Use the `/defaults` or `$defaults` command to bring up the defaults settings interface. If it responds with "That isn't a support crypto exchange!" try again and double check that the spelling matches one of the exchanges listed above. ## Default Trading Pair The default trading pair allows submitted trades to **not** require a `/` separator and pair ticker to be specified. When a separator and pair ticker are not specified, the default trading pair is used. {% hint style="info" %} The trading pair is the second ticker, or the asset being traded with the main crypto.\ I.e. BTC/USDT - where USDT is the pair. {% endhint %} ### How to set or change the Default Trading Pair Use the `/defaults` or `$defaults` command to bring up the defaults settings interface. BTC/USDT) Enter in the price or use `0` for the current market price. Notes can be added and are optional. # Average Up/Down Positions Positions can be averaged up or down, but cannot be 100% accurate as position sizes are not a factor. Position averaging is calculate based on a single coin There is no extra trigger or syntax to average positions. Using the same opening submission for an existing trade that is still open will average the position.\ \ For example, if you submit `BTO BTC/USDT @ 25000` and do not close it, when you submit another opening position the same as an existing one, such as `BTO BTC/USDT @ 24000,` it will already know you have an existing open trade for this ticker and will auto calculate the new average for this trade to 24500- the average of 25000 & 24000.

## Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. Submitting an open position for the same existing open position will average it.

{% hint style="danger" %} Averages can't be 100% accurate due to the app not tracking position sizes. If only 1 coin is being traded, it will be 100%. The app only recognizes that order quantity is always 1, and it can't be specified otherwise. \ \ *An example of inaccuracy; trade opened with 5 coins for $10.00, then averaged with 2 more coins for $9.00 which creates a new average price of \~$9.71. The app only recognizes that 1 coin has been opened for $10.00, and 1 additional coin for $9.00- therefore calculating the average to $9.50.* {% endhint %} # Trim/Partial Close Partially closing or trimming positions allows for locking in gains for stats while still keeping the position open for potentially more future gains {% hint style="success" %} Trim/Partial Keywords\ `TRIM` - `SCAL` - `PART` - `Leaving Some` are all keywords to trigger a trim/partial close & can be used anywhere within the notes.\ *(trimming, scale, scaling, partial, partially)* {% endhint %} > I.e. *`STC BTC/USDT @ 25000 trim`* To trim or partially close trades and keep them open, use the trim/partial keywords at the end of the trade or anywhere within the notes, such as `trim` `trimming` `scale` `scaling` `partial` `partially`. {% tabs %} {% tab title="Example #1" %} ![](/files/voC94HzELTb8w2ROMPQZ)Example of partially closing SOL/USDT position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #2" %} ![](/files/bhWHcpiukTnADjyCncWw)Example of partially closing DOT/USDT position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #3" %} ![](/files/O8cLFepDtVWweyNmiKMh)Example of partially closing ADA/USDT position {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} When closing trades with trim/partial exit, the final gain percentage is generated by calculating the average of trim(s) and exit returns which is used for final gain/loss that is factored into stats. ### Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. When using the `/close` command, use any of the trim/partial keywords (trim, trimming, partial, etc.) anywhere in the notes field to trim/partially close a position. {% hint style="warning" %} Trades that have been trimmed/partially closed will calculate the final gain percentage differently. The returns of each trim/partial and the closing return will be calculated into an average gain/return which is used toward stats. However, the bot will reply with an Entry to Exit gain/loss percentage for trades that have been trimmed/partially closed, but this value does not factor into stats and is only for cosmetic purposes. {% endhint %} # Setting TP/SL How to set and change a Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Trades are automatically closed when the asset prices reaches these specified values There are various methods in setting and changing Take Profits and Stop Losses. ## Using the "Add TP/SL" button When the bot replies to an open trade submission, a blue button titled `Add TP/SL` is attached with it's response. Clicking this will prompt a user friendly popup where values can be specified for Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Set the value for one or both.

The bot will not allow a value below the current market price to be set for a Take Profit, and a value above the current market price to be set for a Stop Loss- and vice versa for short positions. #### Changing or removing TP/SL using "Add TP/SL" button This button can also be used to change or remove existing TPs and SLs. To change, simply specify a new value. To remove one or both, set the value to 0 (zero). {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Using the `$list` or `/list` command will display all open trades where each one has a button to add or change TP/SL. {% endhint %} After successfully setting or changing a TP/SL, the bot sends a ephemeral message to confirm the values specified. The bot will also edit it's response embed to the submitted trade to display the TP/SL values.

## Setting TP/SL with trade submission Take Profit and/or Stop Loss values can be specified anywhere within the trade notes when submitting a trade. When using the keyword letters `TP` and/or `SL`, any numbers following after them will be the values used. It's sophisticated in a way where symbols or words can be used between `TP`/`SL` and the number values. > Specify the price after the keyword letters **`TP`** & **`SL`** | To cancel or remove a TP/SL, set it to **0** (zero).\ > Examples;\ > `TP 2.34 SL 1.23`\ > `TP @ 2.34 and SL @ 1.23`\ > `TP is 2.34 & SL is 1.23`\ > *(Any symbol or word can be used where `@` and `is` are.)*

### Changing TP/SL using List command {% hint style="info" %} The `$list` or `/list` command displays all open trades ordered by most recent. Specifying a ticker with the command will show only open trades for that ticker symbol. {% endhint %} A TP/SL can be added, changed, or removed at any time by using the `$list` or `/list` command. It displays all your open trades 4 at a time. Each trade has a TP/SL button that can be used to specify new or remove values.

### When TP/SL is Hit Trades are intended to auto close when the asset's price reaches or exceeds the specified TP/SL values. When this occurs, the bot will send a message notification in the originating server channel the trade was opened in, as well send a DM notification (if enabled) to the trader or user.

When tracking or submitting forex trades, no separator like a `/` slash or any character should be used between the base and quote currency tickers. ### Prices The bot checks against real-time market prices when trades are submitted. To allow for volatility and time it takes to submit, the submitted price can be off by a small threshold based on our price tolerance system. {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Quickly closing trades can be done by using the `$list` or `/list` command to show all open trades, where each one has a button to immediately close it at the current market price. Check out [Commands](/commands/list) for a list of all commands and how to use them. {% endhint %} # Average Up/Down Positions Positions can be averaged up or down, but cannot be 100% accurate as position sizes are not a factor. Position averaging is calculated based on a single unit. There is no extra trigger or syntax to average positions. Using the same opening submission for an existing trade that is still open will average the position.\ \ For example, if you submit `BTO USDCAD @ 1.395` and do not close it, when you submit another opening position the same as an existing one, such as `BTO AAPL @ 1.394,` it will already know you have an existing open trade for this ticker and will auto calculate the new average for this trade to 1.3945- the average of 1.394 & 1.395.

## Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. Submitting an open position for the same existing open position will average it.

{% hint style="danger" %} Averages can't be 100% accurate due to the app not tracking position sizes. If only 1 unit is being traded, it will be 100%. The app only recognizes that order quantity is always 1, and it can't be specified otherwise. \ \ *An example of inaccuracy; trade opened with 5 units for $10.00, then averaged with 2 units for $9.00 which creates a new average price of \~$9.71. The app only recognizes that 1 unit has been opened for $10.00, and 1 additional unit for $9.00- therefore calculating the average to $9.50.* {% endhint %} # Trim/Partial Close Partially closing or trimming positions allows for locking in gains for stats while still keeping the position open for potentially more future gains {% hint style="success" %} Trim/Partial Keywords\ `TRIM` - `SCAL` - `PART` - `Leaving Some` are all keywords to trigger a trim/partial close & can be used anywhere within the notes.\ *(trimming, scale, scaling, partial, partially)* {% endhint %} > I.e. *`STC USDCAD @ 1.395`` `**`trimming`*** To trim or partially close trades and keep them open, use the trim/partial keywords at the end of the trade or anywhere within the notes, such as `trim` `trimming` `scale` `scaling` `partial` `partially`. {% tabs %} {% tab title="Example #1" %} ![](/files/t2JbTv9yE6DxiqHG5lDy)Example of partially closing USD/CAD long position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #2" %} ![](/files/TTgtbvcrkf3rWkyVvmHo)Example of partially closing USD/JPY long position {% endtab %} {% tab title="Example #3" %} ![](/files/6vpz2MT38nj1EfJjF71B)Example of partially closing USDEUR short position {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} When closing trades with trim/partial exit, the final gain percentage is generated by calculating the average of trim(s) and exit returns which is used for final gain/loss that is factored into stats. ### Using Slash Commands The same concept applies to slash commands as with text commands. When using the `/close` command, use any of the trim/partial keywords (trim, trimming, partial, etc.) anywhere in the notes field to trim/partially close a position. {% hint style="warning" %} Trades that have been trimmed/partially closed will calculate the final gain percentage differently. The returns of each trim/partial and the closing return will be calculated into an average gain/return which is used toward stats. However, the bot will reply with an Entry to Exit gain/loss percentage for trades that have been trimmed/partially closed, but this value does not factor into stats and is only for cosmetic purposes. {% endhint %} # Setting TP/SL How to set and change a Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Trades are automatically closed when the asset prices reaches these specified values There are various methods in setting and changing Take Profits and Stop Losses. ## Using the "Add TP/SL" button When the bot replies to an open trade submission, a blue button titled `Add TP/SL` is attached with it's response. Clicking this will prompt a user friendly popup where values can be specified for Take Profit and/or Stop Loss. Set the value for one or both.

The bot will not allow a value below the current market price to be set for a Take Profit, and a value above the current market price to be set for a Stop Loss- and vice versa for short positions. #### Changing or removing TP/SL using "Add TP/SL" button This button can also be used to change or remove existing TPs and SLs. To change, simply specify a new value. To remove one or both, set the value to 0 (zero) or leave the fields blank. {% hint style="info" %} Did you know?\ Using the `$list` or `/list` command will display all open trades where each one has a button to add or change TP/SL. {% endhint %} After successfully setting or changing a TP/SL, the bot sends a ephemeral message to confirm the values specified. The bot will also edit it's response embed to the submitted trade to display the TP/SL values.

## Setting TP/SL with trade submission Take Profit and/or Stop Loss values can be specified anywhere within the trade notes when submitting a trade. When using the keyword letters `TP` and/or `SL`, any numbers following after them will be the values used. It's sophisticated in a way where symbols or words can be used between `TP`/`SL` and the number values. > Specify the price after the keyword letters **`TP`** & **`SL`** | To cancel or remove a TP/SL, set it to **0** (zero).\ > Examples;\ > `TP 1.34 SL 1.23`\ > `TP @ 1.34 and SL @ 1.23`\ > `TP is 1.34 & SL is 1.23`\ > *(Any symbol or word can be used where `@` and `is` are.)*

### Changing TP/SL using List command {% hint style="info" %} The `$list` or `/list` command displays all open trades ordered by most recent. Specifying a ticker with the command will show only open trades for that ticker symbol. {% endhint %} A TP/SL can be added, changed, or removed at any time by using the `$list` or `/list` command. It displays all your open trades 4 at a time. Each trade has a TP/SL button that can be used to specify new or remove values.

### When TP/SL is Hit Trades are intended to auto close when the asset's price reaches or exceeds the specified TP/SL values. When this occurs, the bot will send a message notification in the originating server channel the trade was opened in, as well send a DM notification (if enabled) to the trader or user.

### How to automatically change colors To enable automatic color changes representing up/down price changes, the bots need to have the *Manage Roles* permission. This allows them to create *Up* and *Down* roles with their respective colors. To prevent the bots from creating duplicate roles, ensure that these roles are placed below the bots main roles.
